Appointment Conditions

This position is an open rank, tenure track, 36-week faculty appointment with the possibility of supplementary summer appointments in research and/or teaching. Full University benefits apply. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an active program of research and will have responsibilities for teaching residential as well as online undergraduate and graduate courses, advising master’s and doctoral graduate students, and providing service to the Department, College, and University as well as to professional organizations or other external agencies.

    Required Qualifications

    Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences or a closely related field with an emphasis on learning and instruction. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to a significant program of research that has the potential to secure external funding, commensurate with experience.

    Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching and advising, commensurate with experience. A willingness to teach in online environments is also a requirement. Candidates must be willing to contribute toward program efforts to support the University’s general education program.

    Candidates must also provide evidence of commitment to working collegially and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Candidates should be able to demonstrate an ability to contribute to the Educational Psychology program’s emphasis on the development and evaluation of educational interventions. The ideal candidate will have an active program of theoretically-driven research focused on one or more content areas of learning. This research should utilize innovative methods for examining the delivery and testing of interventions in real world settings. We are particularly interested in strengthening the faculty in the areas of innovative methodology, the design and testing of educational interventions, and assessments of learning processes and outcomes.  

    The strongest candidates will show evidence of the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as advanced learning topics, methodology, advanced measurement, individual differences, and instruction.
