Jeffrey Ritchey

In addition to being an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Adult Education Program, Dr. Ritchey is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the master's degree program in Adult and Community Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ritchey is a Penn State graduate (B.A., English; M.Ed. & D.Ed., Adult Education) and has completed additional graduate work at Asbury Theological Seminaryand United Theological Seminary. His research has focused on the role of religion in rural community development—primarily in the northern Appalachian region of the U.S. He is the author of “The Role of Religion in Shaping the Rural Context” (2002, Edwin Mellen Press). Dr. Ritchey is currently working with various organizations on educational programs and activism regarding food recovery and poverty.
