Values and Leadership Conference, Call for Papers

The 14th annual Values and Leadership Conference will take place on the University Park campus on October 1-3. It is sponsored by Penn State and the D.J. Willower Center for the Study of Leadership and Ethics.

Penn State and the Center for the Study of Leadership and Ethics, a program center of the University Council for Educational Administration, will host the 14th annual Values and Leadership Conference at the Nittany Lion Inn on October 1-3, 2009.

Additional support for the conference comes from Penn State’s Rock Ethics Institute, the College of Education’s department of Education Policy Studies, Office of Outreach, Cooperative Extension, Technology and International Programs, the Donald J. and Catherine F. Willower Endowment in Educational Administration, and the Pennsylvania School Study Council.

The theme of this year’s conference, Exploring the Meta-Values of Authentic Leadership: Moral Literacy in Action, will provide a context for the exploration of values and ethics in educational leadership. The conference will feature a number of keynote speakers, plenary sessions, individual paper sessions, and receptions.

Of the 12 featured presenters, three are from Penn State: Paul Begley, professor of educational leadership and director of the  Center, Jacqueline Stefkovich, professor of educational leadership and associate dean for Graduate Studies, Research, and Faculty Development, and Nancy Tuana, professor of philosophy and director of the Rock Ethics Institute.

A call for papers is open until June 1.
