Student Congratulations (Compiled March 2014)
Laura Anne Copley, a doctoral student in Counselor Education, was selected for the Emerging Leader Award from the American College Counseling Association (ACCA), a division of the American Counseling Association. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes individuals in the counseling field who have demonstrated valuable work with the college-age population. The award is comprised a of grant fund, a leadership position on one of the ACCA committees, publications in the VISIONS newsletter, and recognition at the 2014 American Counseling Association Conference and Expo in Hawaii.
Emily Giannotti, a graduate student in Counselor Education, was awarded the 2014 McCoy Award, which is given annually to one male and one female student-athlete who combine successful athletic participation with academic excellence.
Marcy Herr, a student in Education Policy Studies, was recognized by Business Insider as one of "18 Incredibly Impressive Students at Penn State."
Courtney Lynch, a doctoral student in C&I (mathematics education), won the 2014 Susan Gay Scholarship given by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE).
Six Workforce Education students, Taesung Kim, Woocheol Kim, Cho Hyun Park, Yu Kyoung Park, Jong Gyu Park, and Marie Saul, won the "Human Resource Development Cutting Edge Award" for papers submitted to the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) International Conference in the Americas.
