College of Education Endowments Help Boost Penn State's Investing in People Initiative

Press release about the Penn State College of Education's Education Endowments that help boost the university's Investing in People Initiative

(May 2007)

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – As the four-year University-wide Investing in People fundraising effort comes to a close on June 30, 2007, the College’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations is pleased to report that the College has nearly met its lofty goal of $10 million.

Commitments of $9,253,062 include several new endowments in the College of Education. In addition, with a few large commitments in the pipeline, the Development Office anticipates that the College will exceed its goal. Nine new endowments have been established since October 28, 2006.

The University entered the silent phase of the next comprehensive fundraising campaign on January 1, 2007. This yet-to-be-named campaign is scheduled to conclude in 2014. To date, the College of Education has secured commitments of more than $2 million in lead gifts for this effort. “We look forward to an exciting period of reconnecting our alumni and engaging our friends to support the College’s goals for the future,” said Susan Fleck, assistant director of development.
