UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa – Kelly Blasko, doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology, has received the 2007 Roy Scrivner Predoctoral Research Grant from the American Psychological Foundation. The $1,000 award will support Blasko’s dissertation research on therapists’ assessment of same-sex intimate partner violence situations.

The Roy Scrivner Research Grant seeks to encourage empirical research on lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) family psychology and LGB family therapy. The award honors the late Roy Scrivner, a psychologist and former president of the Texas Psychological Association who was nationally known for his groundbreaking work and advocacy relating to gay, lesbian, and bisexual family therapy.
