All registrations must be completed online. After reviewing this section, please click on REGISTRATION and complete the online web form. Once you submit the form you will automatically be taken to the credit card payment screen. Your registration is not complete until payment is received. We require 15 paid participants to hold a workshop and our maximum capacity is 25. You must enter each individual participants information accurately. Entering dummy or facility information will void your registration and a refund will be issued. Without accurate participant information it is impossible for us to maintain records or properly communicate with participants regarding the workshop.
You must be qualified to attend this workshop. Please read the Qualifications section to determine if you are qualified.
Cost to attend the standard Online Course and Two Day Workshop is $165.00.
Required course materials are ordered separately for an additional fee.

If you have the proper qualifications and have been pre-approved by the PA Department of Education you can attend just the last 2 days of the workshop for certification. Cost to attend the last 2 days is $115.00. Again, this must be pre-approved. Please read the Qualifications section for more information.
Credit Card payment is strongly encouraged and must be made online. We cannot accept credit card payments over the phone. We accept both Visa® and MasterCard®. If a facility is making a payment for you we will accept checks, however, registration is processed on a first paid basis.
Cancellations must be made prior to the deadline for registration. Refunds will not be made after the registration deadline. The only exception is when Penn State cancels the workshop. Workshops can be cancelled by Penn State for various reasons. Examples include low enrollment, inclement weather and facility or scheduling issues. You can choose to transfer your payment to a different workshop. See below for Refunds and Transfers restrictions. You must take the corresponding Two Day Workshop associated with the Online Course. If you cannot complete or attend either one of these, you will need to transfer to a completely different workshop. See Refunds, Transfers and Forfeits sections for more details.
Refunds will not be made after the registration deadline. See Cancellation Policy and Transfers sections.
If payment was made by credit card within 90 days from the workshop, refunds can be issued to the credit card used to register. We cannot refund to a different card.
If payment was made by check, or more than 90 days ago with a credit card, refunds will be issued by check.
You may only transfer to a workshop within the same calendar year and you may only transfer twice before forfeiting you payment. See Forfeits. You may transfer your payment to a later workshop by clicking on REGISTRATION, completing the online registration form and selecting the available workshop. Submitting this form will take you to the credit card payment screen again. DO NOT PAY AGAIN. You may close this window and continue browsing. Email Staci Lynch at firstname.lastname@example.org to inform him you are transferring your previous payment to an available workshop.
For Facilities: You may replace a registered participant with a different participant by using the method described above provided both participants are attending the full workshop. This will need to take place prior to the deadline for registration. If the deadline has passed, you may still replace the participant but the new participant will need to attend a different workshop. If the current participant was approved to attend just the 2 Day Workshop and the replacement needs to attend the full workshop, you would need to request a refund for the current participant and register and pay the replacement for the full workshop before the deadline. If the current participant was approved to attend just the 2 Day Workshop and the replacement also want to attend just the 2 Day Workshop, the replacement would need to submit a request for and receive approval to attend before they could replace the current participant. If approval to attend does not arrive before the deadline, the replacement would have to attend a different workshop.
If you cancel your registration before the deadline, you are eligible for a refund. See Refunds. If you cancel or fail to attend or completed a portion of the workshop after the deadline, you are not eligible for a refund but can transfer your payment to a different workshop within the same calendar year. See Transfers. It is important to understand there are costs associated with operating the workshop and with cancellations and transfers. Failure to request a refund within the same calendar year will result in a forfeit of payment. Failure to transfer to a workshop within the same calendar year or attempting to transfer more than twice will result in a forfeit of payment. Forfeit of payment means your fee has been absorbed and you may not attend any workshop at any time unless you pay the registration fee again.
Unless you were approved to only attend the last Two Day Workshop, you must successfully complete both the Online Course and the Two Day workshop to receive certification. You may not attend the Two Day Workshop until you have successfully completed the Online Course. Successful completion of the Online Course means you have completed all the assignments to the satisfaction of the instructor within the three week time period. Should you fail to complete the Online Course, you will not be able to attend the corresponding Two Day Workshop. You will need to sign up for a completely different workshop, see the Transfers section above for information on how to achieve this. Successful completion of the Two Day Workshop requires prompt attendance for both days and is at the discretion of the Pennsylvania Department of Education instructors. Certification is awarded based a specific number hours of instruction. Failure to complete the workshops or attend during the scheduled times may result in your certification being withheld until you have completed the required number hours of instruction.
Certification is good indefinitely, meaning it does not expire. If you've lost your certificate or if your name has changed on your license, you may request a replacement at no cost. You will need to email or fax a copy of your current license along with a current mailing address and give a rough idea of when you took the workshop. If your name changed, please also include your previous name. The official certificate must and will be sent via US Mail but we can also email you an unofficial scanned version. Often times, this unofficial copy will suffice until the official copy arrives by mail.
