Jack Thompson taught mathmetatics in Philadelphia between 1970 and 1975. He then served as a graduate assistant at Penn State until 1978. Following that, he was assistant superintendent with the Kent County Board of Education in Maryland.
Jack is a Salvation Army volunteer and works with the Penn State Graduate School Doctoral Alumni Reunion Group and Alumni Society. He has presented at the Large Scale Assessment national conference and the National Council on Mathematics in Education. He has authored articles for Studies in Educational Evaluation and School Science and Mathematics. He is a member of Pi Lambda Theta, Phi Delta Kappa, and the National Association of Test Directors.
