Lawrence Wess recently retired as the Superintendent of Schools for the Cambria Heights School District. Previously, he was the Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, Middle School Principal and Science teacher for the Penn Cambria School District. He has served on the PSU COE Alumni Society Board since 2004 and as Board President 2010-12. We was secretary of the PA Middle School Association Board, and presented at national, state and local conferences. Certified in elementary education, biology, and general science, Dr. Wess' teaching career has included students from grades two to nine. He is a member of many professional organizations including PSBA, Phi Delta Kappa, ASCD, NSTA, and NAESSP. Dr. Wess was an adjunct instructor with Penn State Altoona, teaching Educational Theory and Policy. Currently is an adjunct graduate instructor teaching The Principalship for PSU World Campus. Dr. Wess is also the Executive Director for the PA School Study Council at Penn State and facilitates PIL professional development for principals through PDE.
Lawrence is a Life Member of the PSU Alumni Association and the Centre County Chapter of PSU Alumni. He has two sons that are PSU graduates of the Schreyer Honors College and also Life Members.
