Stephen Bagnato - '75 MS and ’77 Ed. D. School Psychology

Stephen is a developmental school psychologist and professor of psychology and pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh in the School of Education and School of Medicine. He also is director of the Division for Early Childhood Partnerships at the Office of Child Development. He is perhaps best known in Pennsylvania for his longitudinal studies funded by the Heinz Endowments (1997–2009) into the effectiveness of high-quality early childhood intervention programs on more than 15,000 at-risk preschoolers in more than 60 school district-community partnerships for Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning.  He was honored with the 2014 Penn State Alumni Fellow Award as well as the Excellence in Education Award in 2008 from the Penn State College of Education Alumni Society. Stephen was featured as an alumni profile in our 2012 Penn State Education magazine.

Jenna Beckwith Messman – ’08 M. Ed. Counselor Education

Jenna is the Sexual Health Program Coordinator at the University of Maryland. She coordinates sexual health education programming and service needs of the campus community; trains, supervises and instructs peer educators; provides sexual healthy consultations; and serves as an active LGBTQ advocate and ally on campus. Jenna was featured as an alumni profile in our 2015 Penn State Education magazine.
