As of today some new software is now available to users in Managed Software Center.  CETC has been hard at work testing an array of software to make sure that everything works properly.  Listed below is the new software that can now be requested or will be automatically installed via Managed Software Center

  • Microsoft Office 2016 - Any user running OS X 10.10 or above will automatically receive Microsoft Office 2016 and the previous version will be uninstalled.  Office 2016 brings a native look to OS X that feels familiar with the PC version.
  • ChronoVizChronoViz is a tool to aid visualization and analysis of multimodal sets of time-coded information, with a focus on the analysis of video in combination with other data sources.
  • Amazon Music - For those of you who are subscribed to Amazon Prime, you can now install Amazon Music on your Mac and take advantage of streaming all the music that Amazon offers with their Prime membership.
  • Zoom Web Plugin - This web plugin allows easy group messaging and video conferencing for free.
For those of your currently running OS X 10.9 or earlier, you will soon see if your machine is eligible for the upgrade to OS X Yosemite as it will appear in your list of Optional Installs.  If this appears you can install the upgrade to OS X Yosemite.  This process may take a few hours depending on your hardware.  You will also want to take a backup of your data prior to the upgrade.  This upgrade will allow those users on previous OS versions to install Office 2016.  As always if any additional assistance is required feel free to submit a ticket at help.educ.psu.edu and we would be happy to assist.
