PSU Wireless Update

Penn State has renewed the certificate used to authenticate for Penn State wireless as the old one expires this Saturday.  In order to provide a smooth transition so service is not interrupted we are deploying a new wireless profile for all systems this weekend.  Systems that are connected to our network will not be affected.

If you are a wireless user a few things will happen:

  • The old PSU Wireless profile will uninstall from Managed Software Center (This is normal)
  • The new wireless profile will be received from our MDM server and will be the new means of deployment.

During this transition there may be a brief interruption of connecting to PSU wireless.  Since the new profile will be sent to your system over the air and does not require any input we are advising users to temporarily connect to ATTWIFI if needed and on campus.  If you are at home or another location connected to wireless, your system will automatically get the new wireless profile for PSU since you will still be connected to the internet.

We appreciate everyones' patience in this matter and are happy to assist if there are any issues.  Please submit a ticket if you receive the wireless profile and are unable to sign on to wireless.
