Biography

Dr. Schaefer is an Associate Professor of Education at Penn State and the Director of Training for the Graduate Program in School Psychology. Her research interests include educational and behavioral assessment, learning behaviors, gender, and cultural differences, and instrument development/scaling. She teaches graduate seminars on intellectual assessment and school-based interventions and a multidisciplinary undergraduate honors course on child development from a global perspective.

 

She is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist who supervises in the CEDAR School Psychology Clinic, which provides psychoeducational evaluations for children and youth with academic or behavioral difficulties. She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment and the International Journal of School & Educational Psychology, and is a trainer for the National Association of School Psychologists' PREPaRE School Crisis Prevention and Intervention workshops.
