College of Education Staff Changes

Two new staff members and two retiring staff members

David Price (December 2009)

Since our last issue, the College has welcomed two new people to its staff, Kerri Kopcha and Phil Hoy.

Kerri Kopcha joined the College as the new administrative support assistant in the Curriculum and Instruction Field Experiences office. She had been working on a temporary basis in the same capacity before becoming full-time in September. You can reach Kerri in 170 Chambers or at or 865-1734.

Phil Hoy became the assistant director of alumni relations for the College in October. Phil is a 1993 alumnus of the College. Phil comes to the College from Penn State Cooperative Extension where he was the youth program management coordinator for the last twelve years. Phil assumes the position vacated when Brent Hurley joined the Penn State Alumni Association. You can reach Phil in 249 Chambers or at or 863-2216.

And the College is saying, "Thank you and best wishes!" to two people who are retiring!crowder_sml.jpg

Nancy Crowder, who recently celebrated her 34th year at Penn State, will be retiring at the end of the year. Nancy started at Penn State as the graduate staff assistant in Educational Psychology; she retires as the administrative support assistant for the Instructional Systems program. She says she's looking forward to being able to stay up late watching movies, and then sleeping in. She also hopes to take more trips to see her family.

And Diane Bremer actually already has retired. After teaching pre-school and secondary science for many years, Diane earned her master's degree in Counselor Education from Penn State and for the last eight years worked as an academic counselor in the College's advising center. On the agenda now, grandkids!
