Staff Changes: Spring 2010

New staff in the College of Education

Since our last issue, the College has welcomed several new people to its staff and said good-bye to two.

New Staff

In February, Catherine Augustine began working as an academic counselor in 228 Chambers. She has been with the University for some time, having received her Ph.D. in Instructional Systems in 1992 from the College of Education. As an affiliate assistant professor, she has taught several courses and has a significant interest in the area of the science and the art of hearing. Courtney Robison came to the College at the beginning of March. As an administrative support assistant, she coordinates and facilitates the instructional programs process. Prior to joining the University, Courtney worked in patients accounting at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She and her family live in Milesburg. Her office is in 314 Keller. Laura Katunich joined the College as an academic counselor at the beginning of April. Previously Laura was at Central Washington University, where she also was an academic advisor. Joining Penn State was a return home for her, as Laura is a 1999 graduate in African and African-American Studies. You can reach Laura in 228 Chambers, at, or at 867-4146.


New to Workforce Education is Kristy Barton, who joined the program as an administrative support assistant in early April. Kristy, who is from Bellefonte, is new to the University. Departing Staff

Anne Jones
, a program assistant for the Penn State Educational Partnership Program (PEPP) at the Greater Allegheny Campus, retired at the end of March. She had been with PEPP since 1989 and with Penn State since 1980.

Kyle Crain, an Information Technology Specialist in ETC, also left the College to take a similar position at Penn State Dickinson School of Law in early April. Kyle had been working for the College of Education since 2008.
