EDPSY 597A: Mind, Brain, and Education
Spring 2011


Class time: Wednesdays, 1:00p.m.–4:00p.m.
Professor: P. Karen Murphy
Purpose: To explore understandings about human learning and instruction in relation to internal, biological mechanisms of the brain as understood through nueroscience and brain imaging techniques.
Sample Topics Covered: Brain anatomy, fMRI, memory, executive control, motivation, emotion, self-regulation, and content-area learning.
Audience: Graduate students with a thorough understanding of learning theory and instructional practice.

 

Students also will tour of imaging labs on campus.
