Study Reveals Challenges for Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Programs

Penn State researchers have completed research on Early Childhood Education teacher education programs in the U.S., which was funded by a grant from the Foundation for Child Development.

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State researchers have completed an investigation of 42 Early Childhood Education Teacher Education programs at major universities in 38 states. The research, which was funded by a grant from the Foundation for Child Development, identified several tensions between Early Childhood Education and elementary teacher education programs, as well as several recommendations to mitigate these tensions.
