UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Dean David H. Monk recently announced
the implementation of a refined administrative model along with the appointments of new program and department leadership within the College for the 2014-15 academic year.

“The refined model reflects a collective effort to coordinate curriculum development across the departments while properly respecting the autonomy of the individual graduate programs and undergraduate majors within the departments,” said Monk.

“The model also addresses student recruitment and retention issues at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The dean’s office has responded to the feedback from the faculty during the first two years of the model’s pilot phase, and the increased flexibility of the approach is a direct result. I have been very impressed with the quality and specificity of the feedback we received, and I want to thank everyone for how well we were able to pull together. We will continue to monitor the model’s performance and make further adjustments as needed.”
