The Journey Success Center helps students navigate this pivotal time and accomplish their goals. Journey’s mission is to empower students to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially.
Through professional and peer coaching, workshops, small groups, and mindfulness-based wellness programs, Journey seeks to help students forge their path and find success in their own personal journey.
Journey’s approach to holistic support is focused on the elements of BALANSE: Belonging and mattering; Academic skills and institutional capital; Life purpose and sources of meaning; Awareness, metacognition, and mindfulness; Necessities for financial security; Safety and physical health; and Emotional and mental health.

Join a group of Penn State University Park students for a 3-night, secular mindfulness retreat in the Poconos. This retreat is offered by Inward Bound Mindfulness—an organization that specializes in tech-free, in-person mindfulness retreats designed for young adults—and hosted in partnership with the Mindfulness and Science of Happiness (MASH) student organization and the Journey Success Center in the College of Education at Penn State University Park.
Embark Penn State is a summer transition program designed to support incoming first-year University Park students on the autism spectrum as they prepare to begin their Penn State journey. The program offers students an opportunity to become familiar with the campus, build connections with peers, and develop the academic, campus life, and social skills that support a successful start to college.
