Stephanie Koons

Stephanie Koons is a Marketing Communications Specialist for the College of Education at Penn State. She writes news, feature, and research articles that promote faculty, students, and staff within the college, specifically covering news from the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education and the Department of Education Policy Studies. In addition, Stephanie manages the college's social media presence and platforms. She plans and posts social media communications on behalf of the College of Education on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

Stephanie has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She has previously worked as a public relations specialist for the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology, a columnist/feature writer for the Centre Daily Times, and a multimedia journalist for AccuWeather. She also managed accounts of healthcare providers across the United States for a digital marketing agency. Additionally, Stephanie has freelanced for publications such as Town & Gown and State College Magazine; and has volunteered for WPSU-TV and Voices of Central Pennsylvania. Her favorite types of articles to write are news features and human-interest stories.
