The Superintendent Graduate Certificate program is for those interested in applying for the Pennsylvania Superintendent PK-12 Letter of Eligibility. The program consists of 21 credits which includes an internship. A specific set of courses explicitly addresses the alignment of the PA Inspired Leadership (PIL) standards within and across courses. leading to the completion of a 360 hour field experience required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
The following Graduate Certificate courses have been evaluated by Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and The National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP). In addition, these courses may count toward professional development hours.

Your 360 hours of job-embedded internship enables you to work with seasoned leaders in an experiential learning environment, teaching you the preventive measures and diagnostic techniques necessary to resolve problems faced by current chief school administrators.

Applicants for admission to the Superintendent Graduate Certificate program at Penn State must submit all application materials to the Graduate School at Penn State by the application deadlines.
- Fall Admission: June 15
- Spring Admission: November 1
- Summer Admission: March 15
The Graduate School confirms eligibility for admission of all applicants. The Educational Leadership Program will select and recommend applicants for offers of admission.
