CI 495B (sometimes referred to as pre-student teaching) is a three-credit, non-graded course taken the semester before student teaching. Students are in 4th-6th grade classrooms every Monday and Tuesday for full days, as well as Wednesday mornings for the semester. Students also spend a full week in the school towards the end of the semester. Students have the opportunity to plan, teach lessons, and work with students in the middle grades. You are encouraged not to take additional courses during this semester due to workload and school site responsibilities.
