Become Part of The Solution
Our Goal
The Teacher-in-Residence program aims to alleviate Pennsylvania’s teacher shortage and low retention rates by recruiting and supporting talented educators so that they may meet their respective community’s needs, celebrate and value cultural wealth, and foster student agency.
Through our partnership with host schools and communities, we seek to elevate cultural wealth and knowledges in the classroom by adapting asset-based pedagogical practices.
Join The Cause
The College will work in partnership with communities outside of University Park to better serve our developing teachers in these school districts. This program seeks and may be of particular interest to:
– educators who are commited to social justice, equity, and anti-racism in education;
– educators who are on emergency permits or long-term substitutes who qualify for emergency permits;
– recent college graduates with degrees outside the teacher preparation programs who need certification in math or sciences.
